Treatment Overview

Each session is fully customised to suit your specific needs, utilising a combination of the techniques described below, to achieve the best results.  Appointments include; injury assessment, treatment, on-going advice and customised self-care plans.

SPORTS MASSAGE

Sports Massage has become a generic term for deeper massage techniques and is not a stand-alone therapy, or one limited to active people!  This style of massage has many benefits outsite of the sports arena and is rapidly being adopted by the general population.  It includes a combination of the different massage and assisted stretching treatments listed on this page. 

NEUROMUSCULAR TECHNIQUES & POSITIONAL RELEASE

The therapist's secret to relieving the pain of muscle spasms, very common in the upper back, neck and shoulders.  These techniques use specific and isolated applied pressure to over-ride the cause of the spasm.

Muscle spasms, especially in the neck, can hinder normal movement and affect your ability to sleep properly. 

FRICTION & DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Friction is used to treat areas which have become badly 'congested' from a build up of scar tissue and adhesions deep within the muscle.

 

The aim is to help separate fibres which have started to 'stick' together which helps to restore normal function to those tissues.

MUSCLE ENERGY TECHNIQUES

"MET's" are stretching techniques that are painless, extremely effective and completely non-invasive.  They work with the body’s own reflex system to re-set over-used muscle fibres, restoring them to their normal resting length and optimum condition.  MET's are usually performed with clients fully clothed and work most effectively when used alongside other soft tissue treatments.

SOFT TISSUE RELEASE

Soft Tissue Release is a hybrid of deep tissue massage and specific, localised stretching of muscle fibres.  Effects are immediate and achieve far better results than traditional functional stretching techniques.

STR can be performed through clothing, making it an ideal complimentary therapy for massage or for working in environments where removal of clothing might be impractical.

RELAX & UNWIND

If it's simple relaxation that you require, I also offer Relax and Unwind treatments. 

 

Massage has been used or centuries to relax the body and mind.  These treatments include lighter, traditional Swedish Massage strokes combined with pre-blended Neal's Yard aromatherapy oils, all in a calm environment designed to relax and de-stress you.  Treatments last for one hour.  

CUSTOMISED SELF-CARE PLANS

To assist in your recovery, or reduce the risk of future issues, customised exercise and self-care plans are included as part of your treatment.  These feature printable images and instructions, plus links to demonstration videos.

EVENT & TEAM SUPPORT
